Night Fort

Welcome to the official website for the Fort Scratchley Historical Society Inc.

The accuracy of the information contained within this site has been made possible by close liaison with the Society's committee of management, and past members of 113 Field Battery, Royal Australian Artillery who have served at Fort Scratchley.

We trust that this site is beneficial to members of the society, sponsors, historians, researching students, military buffs as well as the general public, both those who have visited our Fort as well as those intending to do so in the future.

Now that restoration works have been completed, the Fort has re-opened to the general public with visitor information available from our Events/Times page.

The Fort Scratchley site is owned by the Newcastle City Council (NCC) and manned by volunteers from the Fort Scratchley Historical Society. The photo above is of the Fort at night is courtesy of Trish McDonald.

Fort Scratchley Historical Society is always seeking new members with many avenues available for those who wish to get actively involved. Please visit our membership page for further information.
