Fort Scratchley ex gunners are looklng for fellow 113 Fort boys.
The Fort Scratchley ex-gunner hunt is on. When Fort Scratchley closed in 1972, it was NSW's largest CMF Battery. Fort Scratchley ex-gunners group member Iohn Kime said since the fort's closure people had lost contact and a lot of memorabilia had been thrown out.
Mr Kime said the group wanted to track down any memorabilia to be kept for future generations. He said the ex-gunners had relied on word of mouth and a few books to reunite Fort Scratchley's main men and had found ex-gunners as far a field as Albury, Dubbo and Queensland.
The group is also on the hunt for photographs, films, shells - anything about Fort Scratchley ihat could be displayed to show future generations what happened on the site from the 1950s to 1972. A reunion is being planned for later on this year. For more information phone John Kime on 49844888.
